Kahiko Ha Lapa I Hula Alapa`i `O Ke Anuenue
The halau Kahiko Ha Lapa I Hula Alapa`I `O Ke Anuenue was founded in the year 2000 by Lynn Kananiokeanuenue Roth.
Lynn Kananiokeanuenue Roth began learning hula with Roselle Bailey in 1976. When marriage and family took her to California in 1981, Lynn kept in touch with hula and her halau on Kaua`i. In 1995 she moved with her family back to Kaua`i for two years, and then again back to California, always studying and practicing hula.
In 1999 Lynn began teaching hula, music and chant to the World Music Class at Marin Academy, a private High School in San Rafael, California. Some of her students asked to continue learning hula outside the school, which lead to the forming of the halau.
